নড়াইল সরকারি ভিক্টোরিয়া কলেজের সুলতান মঞ্চ চত্ত্বরে অনুষ্ঠিত ১৫ দিনব্যাপী সুলতান মেলার সমাপনী ও সুলতান পদক প্রদান অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তৃতায় একথা বলেন প্রতিমন্ত্রী।
তিনি বলেন, নড়াইল সাহিত্য ও শিল্প সংস্কৃতিতে সমৃদ্ধ। বাংলার ঐতিহ্যকে চিত্রশিল্পের মাধ্যমে সারা বিশ্বে তুলে ধরেছেন বরেণ্য চিত্রশিল্পী এসএম সুলতান। তাঁর অঙ্কিত চিত্রে গ্রাম বাংলার মানুষের জীবনচিত্র ফুটে উঠেছে। পরে অনুষ্ঠানে চিত্রশিল্পী নাসিম আহমেদ নাদভীর হাতে ‘সুলতান পদক’ তুলে দেন প্রতিমন্ত্রী নাহিদ ইজাহার খান।
আলোচনা সভা শেষে প্রতিমন্ত্রী চিত্র প্রদর্শন গ্যালারী, শহরের মাছিমদিয়াস্থ চিত্রশিল্পী সুলতানের বাসভবন, সরকারি ভিক্টোরিয়া কলেজের পুরাতন ভবন পরির্দশন করেন।
জেলা প্রশাসক ও সুলতান ফাউন্ডেশনের সভাপতি মোহাম্মদ আশফাকুল হক চৌধুরীর সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানে সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নড়াইল-২ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য ও জাতীয় সংসদের হুইপ মাশরাফী বিন মোর্তুজা। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন নড়াইলের পুলিশ সুপার মো. মেহেদী হাসান, নড়াইল সরকারি ভিক্টোরিয়া কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ অধ্যাপক খান শাহাবুদ্দিন প্রমুখ। বাসস।
