বাংলার অঙ্গনেতে বাজায়েছ নটেশের রঙ্গমল্লী গাঁথা
অশান্ত সন্তান ওগো,- বিপ্লবিনী পদ্মা ছিল তব নদী-মাতা।
কালবৈশাখীর দোলা অনিবার দুলাইতে রক্তপুঞ্জ তব
উত্তাল ঊর্মির তালে,-বক্ষে তবু লক্ষ কোটি পন্নগ-উৎসব
উদ্যত ফণার নৃত্যে আষ্ফালিত ধূর্জটির কন্ঠ-নাগ জিনি,
ত্র্যম্বক-পিনাকে তব শঙ্কাকুল ছিল সদা শত্রু অক্ষৌহিণী।
স্পর্শে তব পুরোহিত, ক্লেদে প্রাণ নিমেষেতে উঠিত সঞ্চারি,
এসেছিলে বিষ্ণুচক্র মর্মন্তুদ,–ক্লৈব্যের সংহারী।
ভেঙেছিলে বাঙালির সর্বনাশী সুষুপ্তির ঘোর,

বিধিবশে দূরাগত বন্ধু আজ, ভেঙে গেছে বসুধা-নির্মোক,

মল্লারে কাঁদিছে আজ বিমানের বৃন্তহারা মেঘছত্রীদল,
