নীরবে জ্ঞানের আলো ছড়িয়ে দিতে ব্যতিক্রমী উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন আলোকিত বজ্রপুর নামের একটি সামাজিক সংগঠন। কুমিল্লা নগরীতে সেলুন, বাস টার্মিনাল ও হাসপাতালে তারা পাঠাগার স্থাপন করেছেন। হাসপাতালে রোগীর অপেক্ষার স্থান, চুল কাটাতে ও গাড়ীর জন্য এসে দীর্ঘ সময় অপেক্ষা না করে সেখানে বসেই বই পড়ছে সব বয়সের মানুষ। এ উদ্যোগকে ইতিবাচকভাবে দেখছেন বইপ্রেমীরা। বিনামূল্যে বই পড়তে পেরে খুশি এলাকাবাসী।সূত্র: বাসস
একসময় সেলুনে পত্রিকা রাখার চল ছিল। চুল, দাঁড়ি-গোঁফ কাটতে-ছাঁটতে আসা ব্যক্তিদের মধ্যে যাঁদের অপেক্ষা করতে হতো, তাঁরা পত্রিকা পড়ে সময় কাটাতেন। সে জায়গা দখল করে নিয়েছে মুঠোফোন। মুঠোফোন থেকে ছাপার অক্ষরে ফিরিয়ে আনতে সেলুন, বাস টার্মিনাল ও হাসপাতালে পাঠাগারের এক ব্যতিক্রমী উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন সামাজিক সংগঠনটি। নগরীর সাতটি সেলুনে পাঠাগার স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। তার একটি নগরীর হাউজিং গোল মার্কেট এলাকার সুপার হেয়ার কাটিং সেলুনে। সেলুনের গ্রাহক স্থানীয় ব্যবসায়ী আলমগীর হোসেন বাসসকে বলেন, সেলুনে সিরিয়ালের জন্য এসে বসে থাকতে হয়। তবে বই পড়ে সময় কেটে যায়। এটি একটি ভালো উদ্যোগ। হাসপাতালের পরিচালক অ্যাডভোকেট তসলিমা বেগম বাসসকে বলেন, মোবাইল ফোনে ব্যস্ত থাকার যুগে বই পড়ানোর চেষ্টা একটি ভালো উদ্যোগ।
আলোকিত বজ্রপুরের উদ্যোগ আরও সম্প্রসারিত হোক। অপরদিকে নগরীর জাঙ্গালিয়া বাস টার্মিনালে যাত্রী অপেক্ষার কক্ষেও পাঠাগার স্থাপন করা হয়। ইতিহাসবিদ আহসানুল কবীর বলেন, কুমিল্লা শুধু ব্যাংক ও ট্যাংকের শহর নয়। কুমিল্লা পাঠাগারেরও শহর। এক সময় প্রতিপাড়ায় পাঠাগার ছিল। আলোকিত বজ্রপুর সেই হারানো গৌরব ফিরিয়ে আনতে কাজ করছে।
আলোকিত বজ্রপুরের প্রধান সমন্বয়কারী মাসুদ রানা চৌধুরী বাসসকে বলেন, আমাদের জীবসত্তা জাগত থাকলেও মানবসত্তা জাগ্রত করার সিঁড়ি হচ্ছে বই। আমাদের বই পড়ার নিয়মিত অভ্যাস তৈরি করতে সেলুন বাস টার্মিনাল ও হাসপাতালে পাঠাগার স্থাপন করার প্রয়াস এটি। কুমিল্লার সকল এলাকার সেলুন বাস টার্মিনাল ও হাসপাতালে পাঠাগার স্থপনের উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে আলোকিত বজ্রপুর সংগঠনটি। আমাদের এ উদ্যোগ চলমান থাকবে। আমরা মানুষের পাঠ্যাভ্যাস ফিরিয়ে আনতে এ উদ্যোগ নিয়েছি। সেলুন, বাস টার্মিনালের পরে হাসপাতালে রোগী অপেক্ষার স্থানে পাঠাগার স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। আশা করছি আমাদের এ উদ্যোগ সারা দেশে ছড়িয়ে পড়বে।
